Karen Larson-Murphy

FOUNDER & CEO

Karen is the Founder and CEO of Gordon Pass Group, LLC and the Founder and Principal of Broad Avenue Studios, Inc., a luxury national interior design firm.

She oversees a diverse portfolio of projects, including recent work in Naples, Nantucket, Greater Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Charleston, SC. Previously, Karen served as a Director at Deutsche Bank and founded Advanced Sales & Marketing, which she sold to Morningstar, and owned a real estate development company in Naples, FL.

She holds a BA from DePaul and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Karen’s financial acumen and design expertise add value to GPG clients through project budgeting and procurement. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Women’s Foundation of Collier County.

Jim Rafferty

After 39 years as a Lead Engineer and Senior Manager of Construction at Anheuser Bush InBev, Jim joined GPG to lead the company’s project management services. Having led major construction redevelopment and expansion projects in the US, Europe, China, India, Vietnam, and Australia, the company’s clients benefit from Jim’s extensive technical skills in process design, engineering, and construction management. Jim earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.

Michelle Scurfield

Michelle is a Senior Architect and Owner’s-Representative with more than 30 years of experience leading complex, high-value building projects from planning through occupancy. Michelle specializes in owner’s-side project management for multifamily, institutional, liturgical, historic, and luxury residential developments, providing disciplined oversight of budget, schedule, constructability, and consultant coordination. Since 2018, her work has focused on owner’s-representative leadership for large residential and mixed-use projects. Michelle has also managed projects involving prominent cathedrals and synagogues. Michelle brings particular strength in contractor procurement, GMP negotiation, cost escalation management, risk mitigation, and quality control skills. Michelle holds a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech.
